Liar's Dice

Liar's Dice

In the center of the pier is a round table with a small stone pavilion next to it. This somewhat more advanced or complicated attraction is based on a strategic dice game called "Liar's Dices". Up to 4 players can play each game in random turn order.

At the start of a round, each player is given 5 random dice to place in front of them in the Shulker box. These dice cannot be seen by other players. The players try to bid the highest possible number of "dice numbers" on a particular side of the dice (e.g. 4 times the 5 dice). The game continues until a player disputes the bid of the player in front of them. The evaluation of the bid is based on all the dice "in play", i.e. all the dice in the respective Shulker boxes together (with 2 players => 10 dice, with 3 players => 15 dice, with 4 players => 20 dice). As the players can only see their own dice, they have to take a certain risk when estimating/guessing the "total pot" of dice in order to match bids.

The players play in alternating turns. In a turn, the player has different buttons in front of them, which have the following actions:

  • Increasing the number of dice
    • The number of dice in the current bid is increased by one
    • e.g.: 2 times the 2 dice => 3 times the 2 dice
  • Increase the number of dice eyes
    • The number of dice eyes in the current bid is increased by one, keeping the total number of eyes from the last bid
    • IMPORTANT! The resulting new bid is calculated in such a way that it is, if possible, equal to or, if necessary, higher than the previous bid, based on the resulting "total number of dice eyes".
    • e.g.: 3 times the 2 dice (total eyes = 6) ==> 2 times the 3 dice (total eyes = 6)
  • End your turn
  • The turn can be ended at any time, even if none of the two bid-raising buttons have been pressed once
  • Contest bid
    • This button can only be pressed at the beginning of the turn if the player considers the credibility of the last bid to be unrealistic
    • If the player is right and the number of dice sides in the specified bid does not exist, they win the game
    • If the player is wrong and the bid on the dice sides in the specified number exists, the challenged player wins the game instead

At the end of the game, after a player challenges, all the dice in play are displayed in the middle of the table for all to see.

To join a new game, players must go to the stone pavilion next to the playing field. After the first player has joined, a countdown starts to the start of the round, during which another three players can join. The game can also be exited at any time by pressing the button on the outer inner wall of the playing field.
